The Eric Weinstein interview was great. One of his points was - don't go down the National Enquirer rabbit hole. You could present material in a constructive tone.
Look at what Taibbi and Sullivan are doing on substack - they're making the right people nervous.

@Beatgrrrl @PatTheBerner Yep. We're in a Twilight Zone episode, and the credits aren't rolling anytime soon. Maybe as far as reporting goes the Substack model has some promise for producing some journalism worth the name, but compared to the scale of the problem there's so far to go ....

@ProtonMail I'm normally with you, but the problem is that websites rely on ad revenue for monetization. I think substack, patreon, and maybe micro-payment-driven content is the future. Also, not using Chrome is a good idea too.

Perhaps some change since 22 Dec’s content moderation update, which positioned Substack to have anti-censorship as its #1 priority:
“We commit to keeping Substack wide open as a platform”; “we take a hands-off approach”.

ok, I listened to Substack co-founder Chris Best on this podcast so you don't have to.
No problem for me with any of this.
In very carefully chosen words, Best pushes back on a number of things:
-Yes, Trump ban justified

I had 2 objectives:
1. Check if there's a problem with the delivery of the email.

Yes, Chris was interviewed for this. Separate to the Parler & Greenwald interviews, which Substack had nothing to do with.
It’s a difficult issue to discuss in public given the temperature, but important nonetheless.
Twitter remains the worst place for thoughtful discourse.

@niubi "I think we have all become smarter about the downsides of communication at scale" is best quote, but really, really hard, likely impossible, problem. No central agreement on what's right, allowed, or how to think about it. Substack's at least subscription-based, not 'public.
