@2still_learning I mean proper data. Actual risk which, based on the current situation, I would expect would conclude that it was not necessary. The problem throughout this has been it’s all a muddle, there’s no context and this is licence for the Govt to do anything.

Hi @MCPL_Libraries -- when I log into https://t.co/MtDJpEYDDO from the library site, it mentions that they're transitioning to LinkedIn learning and that Lynda is shutting down. Will the library have an institutional subscription to LinkedIn Learning we can use? Thank you!

As someone who has taken a lot of video-form cl***es through LinkedIn Learning and https://t.co/x4Uhp2hdT8, I think there are hard limits to this. That said, there are clearly long term implications to the fact that I taught myself how to fix my dishwasher using YouTube.

@ellabrand6 @neviestickss @L1nda66 @EdnaKrabapple1 @MrsWalker91 @MrJFischer1 @HughJon53447869 @NicolaSturgeon @JohnSwinney @EISUnion I've been using LinkedIn learning for courses unrelated to education. Gives an insight into other avenues. Ultimately though everything really does boil down to "what makes you stand out?" "What can you give that others can't?" and "do you have the confidence to perform?"

@2still_learning @deeksj @ab4scambs The false negative issue is by far the biggest problem.
Lack of PCR conf FOR +ves is temporary. From next week testing is done at home and will have it. Erring on side of caution in meantime relatively small issue.
Zero study of negative results is a huge issue however.

@LinkedIn it would be nice if we could showcase our LinkedIn learning certificates someplace higher/more prominent on our profiles. They should stand out more than they do now (too far down) and they just don’t really grab employers attention enough where they are located now.

@Pouriaaa @statsgeekclare @2still_learning The point of including JBM's tweet was to show how the split between P1/P2 (and LFD these days) could be useful (rather than his point about P2 not being included)

@2still_learning Aligning the peaks doesn't matter if the axis scales aren't the same - starting them both at 0 will fix it
That's why deaths climbed more rapidly than case did
Deaths are ~2 weeks behind cases, which is why they're falling faster
What was the halving rate of cases 2 weeks ago?

@2still_learning @UKCovid19Stats It seems a common issue with the laptop, however generally within warranty. Mine is well out of that. So most people had the laptop replaced / repaired by Acer. So need to have a think. Not critical yet as I can get it to wake up / start, just very annoying.

@jonsaxon67 @catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning I agree with that.
And I, for one, do not think our biggest problem is electing nasty or bad people.
But I do think *a* problem is the ignorance of our "leaders" in government. Note I said ignorance, not stupidity. But there are a few of those, too.

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 19:05:28
@eachus @catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning Understanding the source of the problem is how one can most effectively seek a solution. If one thinks "gov is bad because we chose nasty people instead of nice people", then they will not solve the problem, and not understand why the "nice" people turned out just as "nasty".

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 19:03:43
@eachus @catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning To me, the most reasonable leaders are those that understand the need for limited (and localized) government. Its not easy to find people running for office on a platform of "give me less power". That problem is important to understand.

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 19:01:12
@eachus @catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning Of course I will always try and vote for the more reasonable people. But its critical to understand the inherent problem with power, and why free societies have most of their strongest laws limiting that power, not saying how its citizens should act.

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 18:52:18
@catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning People who say "all will be solved if you give the power to nicer people" are not thinking it through, or not very aware of human nature or human history. The problem isn't with bad people in power, its with "power corrupts".

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 18:47:04
@catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning And you are ok with giving those people the power to decide what you eat???
People really don't understand the problem with unrestricted power. Even at a time when they see m***ive abuses of it happening world wide.

Jon Saxon (follow on Parler or Gab @jonsaxon67) @jonsaxon67
Reported 2021-02-24 18:44:35
@catlogic2020 @ClimateDepot @2still_learning So, you will be on board if government enforces environmental laws if they do it "nicely"? As in "please comply with our requests, or we will have to regretfully - really sorry - put you in jail"???
If you trust the gov to be "sensible", then we have found the problem.

@2still_learning Then after 4 or 5 times it will come alive. I was thinking battery issue. Could not find a screw driver for size of battery removal (found one eventually) hard to say it the replacement is working as the longer left the less likely it would turn back on.
