@xeluior In a sense yes, but also no - there's the problem that subscribing to an art site doesn't come with many benefits for users (think of e.g. Deviantart Core as an example). That said, I do have an alternate plan to have a "cheaper" user sub for those wanting less stuff.

@MilkFanJay I know what the kid said and did was crazy af (tho I’ve seen kids act like this all the time I remember when it was all on deviantart) but what I find more crazy is a 19 year old reporting some kids melt down like some sort of news. Unless I’m missing something here

@daregularsauce @StupidButterfIy Checked out "fnaf freddy pose", and alot of renders point towards DeviantArt. I wouldn't think about them just casually saving the renders without reading where it is from. But it doesn't matter, now they took it down.

There's nothing inherently wrong with reading YA. If you want to enjoy fun, uncomplicated stories, that's fine. The problem is when you insist that YA deserves to be evaluated alongside real literature, which is like saying your DeviantArt page should be in the Louvre

The only thing I hate about DeviantArt is the m***ive push for subscriptions. It's a literal pain to try and use DA on the daily when they keep on making so many features just for you to be forced to use Core. It really brings down on the fun of DA

@lenahmartian That is a real issue, those numbers matter. I found that all other platforms are either broken (fb, ig) overrun by AI (DeviantArt) or just not made for gathering followers through promotion (ArtStation). Twitter looks like the last hope.

deviantart has an abysmal abuse reporting system, the fact they don't let you directly report a user and instead make you hunt down the page to send a ticket to customer support, which is prefaced by an INCREDIBLY unhelpful "how to handle it yourself" page, is unbelievable

@dirtypeech All the tutorials I used are broken links for Painttool sai tutorials from 2009 on Deviantart 😭 but if your worried about messing up flats, draw your shadows and hilights on a layer over the flats and clip it to the color layer

WHOAH I recently scanned a bunch of Megaman Battle Network fan-fiction I printed out back in 2003. Aside from deviantART and GameFAQs, FanFiction . net was one my favorite sites. This'll be the end of an era, for sure.
